Common Questions

Everything You Need to Know

Watch for these warning signs:

  • Squealing, squeaking, or grinding when braking
  • Pedal feels spongy or goes to the floor
  • Steering wheel shakes or vibrates when braking
  • Vehicle pulls to one side when braking
  • Dashboard brake warning light is on
  • Longer stopping distance than normal

If you notice any of these, schedule an inspection right away.

Most brake pads last between 30,000 and 70,000 miles. Actual lifespan depends on several factors: your driving style (frequent stopping wears pads faster), the type of pads installed, your vehicle's weight, and the quality of the braking components. We recommend inspection at every oil change to catch wear early.

Ceramic Pads: Made from ceramic fibers and copper fibers. They're quieter, produce less brake dust, last longer, and work best for daily drivers and passenger vehicles. Generally more expensive.

Semi-Metallic Pads: Contain metal fibers (usually steel). They provide excellent stopping power, handle heat well, and are better suited for heavier vehicles, trucks, and performance applications. They can be noisier and produce more dust.

We'll help you choose the right option for your vehicle and driving needs.

Not necessarily. If your rotors are still within manufacturer's specifications (not warped, scored, or below minimum thickness), they can often be resurfaced rather than replaced. However, if rotors show significant wear or damage, replacing them ensures optimal braking performance and prevents premature pad wear. We'll inspect and recommend what's best for your safety.
Most brake pad replacements take 2-4 hours. Rotor replacement or resurfacing adds some time. Caliper service or complete system overhauls may take longer. We'll give you a time estimate when you schedule your appointment and keep you updated throughout the process.
