Brake fluid exchange process

Fresh Fluid Better Brakes

Brake fluid is hygroscopic—it absorbs moisture from the air over time. Contaminated fluid has a lower boiling point, which can lead to brake fade during hard braking. It also causes internal corrosion of caliper pistons and metal lines.

We recommend brake fluid exchange every 2-3 years or 30,000 miles, whichever comes first. Vehicles driven in humid climates may need service more frequently.

$79 & Up

Complete flush with premium DOT 3/4 fluid. Tax and parts extra. Heavy-duty vehicles may be higher.

Our Process

Complete Fluid Flush

1

Inspection

We test fluid condition and check for contamination or moisture buildup before starting.

2

Drain Old Fluid

Old fluid is drained completely. We use pressure or vacuum methods for thorough removal.

3

Refill & Bleed

Fresh DOT-specified fluid is added. Each brake line is bled to remove air bubbles.

4

Test

Pedal feel is verified. Master cylinder and proportioning valves checked for proper operation.

Why It Matters

The Problem with Old Fluid

🌡️

Lower Boiling Point

Contaminated brake fluid boils at lower temperatures, causing brake fade when you need stopping power most.

🔩

Internal Corrosion

Moisture in old fluid causes rust and corrosion in caliper pistons, master cylinders, and steel lines.

〰️

Spongy Pedal

Air bubbles and contamination create a soft, spongy brake pedal that requires more pedal travel to stop.

💰

Expensive Repairs

Corroded calipers and rusted lines that result from neglected fluid can cost hundreds in repairs.

Fluid Types

We use the right fluid for your vehicle.

DOT 3

Most common passenger vehicles. Glycol-based with 205°C+ boiling point.

$79

DOT 4

Higher performance vehicles. Higher boiling point (230°C+). More moisture resistant.

$99

DOT 5.1

Performance and racing applications. Silicone-based with 260°C+ boiling point.

FAQ

Common Questions

We recommend every 2-3 years or 30,000 miles, whichever comes first. If you do lots of city driving in hot climates or high humidity, annual changes may be beneficial.
You can check the level, but contamination and moisture content require professional testing. Bring it to us for a free fluid condition check.
Over time, brake fluid absorbs moisture which lowers its boiling point and causes internal corrosion. This can lead to brake fade, spongy pedals, and eventually costly caliper and cylinder damage.
