Brake rotor on lathe machine

Restore Your Rotors

Rotors are the discs your brake pads clamp down on to stop your vehicle. Over time, heat and wear can cause them to become warped, grooved, or scored. When this happens, you might feel pulsation through the brake pedal or steering wheel.

We offer two solutions: precision resurfacing (when rotors are still within specification) and full replacement (when rotors are too worn or damaged to save). Our on-car lathe technology ensures perfect parallelism and surface finish every time.

$89 & Up Per Rotor

Resurfacing or replacement. Tax and parts extra. Premium rotors available for heavy-duty applications.

Our Technology

Precision Machining

We use on-car lathe technology for exact specifications.

🎯

On-Car Lathe Machining

Unlike off-car machining (which requires removing the rotor and can introduce alignment issues), our on-car lathe machines rotors while they're mounted exactly as they would be when driving. This produces a perfectly parallel surface that eliminates pedal pulsation.

  • Eliminates runout and wobble
  • Perfect brake pad contact
  • Longer rotor life
🔄

When to Resurface vs Replace

We evaluate each rotor individually based on several factors:

  • Resurface: Minimum thickness above spec, no cracks, uniform wear
  • Replace: Below minimum thickness, cracked, severe grooving, or heat damage
Signs of Trouble

Does Your Vehicle Need Service?

〰️

Pedal Pulsation

If your brake pedal throbs or your steering wheel shakes when braking, your rotors are likely warped. This is the most common symptom of rotor problems.

🔊

Scraping or Grinding

When rotors have deep grooves, brake pads can make contact with the grooves and create grinding or scraping noises. This indicates significant wear.

👁️

Visible Scoring

If you can see deep grooves or scoring on the rotor surface when you look through the wheel spokes, it's time for service. Light scoring is normal; deep grooves are not.

🛑

Extended Stopping Distance

Warped rotors reduce braking efficiency, meaning it takes longer to stop. If you notice you need more pedal pressure or distance to stop, get it checked.

FAQ

Common Questions

If rotors haven't been worn below minimum thickness, they can often be resurfaced using our on-car lathe. This removes the warped material and creates a perfectly flat surface. If rotors are too thin or severely damaged, replacement is necessary.
Rotors typically last 50,000 to 70,000 miles, but this varies widely based on driving habits, vehicle weight, and brake pad type. Heavy vehicles and aggressive drivers may need rotor replacement sooner.
For safety and even braking, we recommend replacing rotors in pairs (both front or both rear). Mixing old and new rotors can cause uneven braking and vehicle pulling.
